Getting to Graspop...  Finally we’re on stage again. We’re playing at the Metal Dome., a great tent and an awesome audience.
 
This time Hans Hanson joined us on stage while Rik was enjoying a beer on a terrace in Greece.
 
We entered stage, (after a good luck SMS from Rik), and played the following set list:.

Asrai is een Rotterdamse band die al jaren aan de weg timmert. Asrai’s roots liggen in de de new wave en de gothic rock scene, maar met hun tweede langspeler “Touch in the Dark” krijgt de band ook wat meer aanhang bij het gothic metal publiek. Asrai trapt vrij gedurfd af met enkele nieuwe nummers (“Shadows, Delilah”)waarop de band wat meer naar hun roots lijkt terug te keren. Het geluid zit van het begin van de set vrij goed de band heeft er zelf ook zin in en komt enthousiast over. De Metal Dome is vrij aardig gevuld met fans en nieuwsgierigen die genieten van nummers zoals “Toch in the Dark” of het doomy “Pale light”. Het vlotte “In Front Of Me” kan helaas niet meer gespeeld worden vanwege tijdsgebrek. Een geslaagd en leuk optreden. (SW)

It was a fun night, great bands, a nice crew and awsome to see and meet the fans we didn’t see for a while.

We were not in the mood for driving home that night so we stayed over...

Dutch goth-metallers ASRAI will give an acoustic show during the Mindview Metal Convention in Belgium (Beveren, JH Togenblik) on November 4th 2007. During this show and the following listening session, the band will present their upcoming release Pearls In Dirt exclusively to all visitors. The Mindview Metal Convention will take place during the day (11am-6pm) and include several showcases. Asrai will perform late afternoon.

 

The band's third full-length, Pearls In Dirt, will be released on November 12th Europe and November 20th in North America via Season Of Mist.

The album will come in a digipak wrapped in an exclusive velvet o-card. Season of Mist will also release the single edit 'Sour Ground', taken from Pearls In Dirt. 'Sour Ground' will be in the stores one week earlier.

Playing at the Mindview Metal Convention, it's an accoustic set although we couldn't resist to bring in  some electricity with us

ls laatste is de Nederlandse gothic rockformatie Asraï aan de beurt die een mix van elektrische en akoestische nummers brengt. Daarbij eist zangeres Margriet Mol met haar hoge uithalen de hoofdrol op tijdens o.a. “Recall” en “Delilah’s Delight”.

Maar ook de vocale duels met toetseniste Manon van der Hidde zijn pittig en onderhoudend en kunnen op heel wat bijval rekenen. Ondanks hun korte set is dit bonte gezelschap een waardige afsluiter van deze conventie. Kijk alvast uit naar hun derde cd ‘Pearls in Dirt’ die binnenkort op de markt komt.

De deels Haagse band Asrai trad vrijdag 9 november op in muziekwinkel Plato aan de Schoolstraat in Den Haag. De band geeft ter promotie van de nieuwe CD 'Pearls In Dirt' een groot aantal concerten de komende maanden. Op 1 februari 2008 is Asrai te zien in het Paard van Troje.

Today we're heading to the WOS studio for a Live Alive gig and a interview.

Wij zijn trots te mogen aankondigen dat de aftrap van de Live Alive optredens in de Plug Unit gedaan zal worden door niemand minder dan Asrai!  Maandag 3 december vanaf 20:00 uur zullen zij de Plug Unit op zijn kop zetten. 

 En luister natuurlijk dinsdag 11 december naar Asrai in Live Alive, tussen 22:00 en 0:00 uur.

De Piek, Vlissingen is one of those venues who has a special place in our hearts.

We played here twice before once Cruxshadows and before that we took extra inforcements with us, because our guitarplayer broke his leg.

 

It's always fun at De Piek, as the remains shows of one of our earlier visits.
